The month overview screen in the Masareefy app

At a glance

You write the budget

The app never sets your budget; it holds the one you set and works from it.

Commitments stay reserved

Bills, instalments and subscriptions you recorded are set aside from the start and never counted as spendable.

Week follows week

The remainder is shared over the weeks of the month and renewed every Sunday; a week you overspend tightens the next.

It moves when you log

The figure changes whenever a purchase is recorded (typed, scanned from a paper receipt, or spoken in one sentence) and whenever you change your budget or commitments.

Your safe spending limit for the week

How much is left of the salary? Instead of opening the banking app and guessing, Masareefy keeps your ledger and reworks the figure every time you log a purchase.

How the figure is worked out, in words

Start from the monthly budget you set, and subtract the commitments recorded in your ledger: recurring bills, instalments, and subscriptions you set up as repeated purchases. The reserved share is taken out first, the rest is paced over the weeks of the month, and that weekly figure is your safe to spend limit — the money that is actually yours to spend until Sunday. It is not your bank balance, and it is recalculated each Sunday, and again each time a purchase is logged (typed, scanned or spoken) or you change your budget or commitments.

The figure appears in four states. Money left in this week's share. You have gone over this week, and the next one starts tighter. The recorded commitments exceed the budget itself, which you want to know at the start of the month, not in its middle. Or no budget is set yet, and the app asks you to set one instead of showing a number that means nothing.

The figure is tied to the rest of the ledger: how recurring commitments are recorded is on the bill reminders page, and if you are starting from the salary itself, begin with the salary-splitting method. Searches for a safe to spend app usually end at bank-linked dashboards; this figure comes from a ledger you feed yourself, which is why it can be trusted. Think of it as a spendable money tracker: the money that is actually yours this week. And when a week runs over, the weekly budget planner behind the figure re-paces the rest of the month instead of pretending nothing happened.

Getting to the figure in the app

  1. Enter your monthly budget

On the Overview, tap Edit beside the budget and enter what you decided to spend this month.

  2. Record your commitments

Add bills, instalments and subscriptions once, and their amounts are reserved from the start of the month.

  3. Log purchases as you go

By typing, from a receipt photo or by saying a sentence. After every save, what is left this week changes.

  4. Start a new week every Sunday

The figure renews on Sunday, and if you go over one week's limit, the next week has less room.

Questions about the weekly figure

Is this figure my bank balance?

No. The figure is worked out from the budget you set and the commitments you recorded. Masareefy never asks for bank credentials, and it counts only what you saved.

Why weekly and not daily?

Because a month is managed week by week: the figure shares what is left over the weeks of the month, renews every Sunday, and a week you overspend tightens the next.

Is Masareefy free?

Yes. Masareefy is free right now, with no payment card. Receipt scanning, voice logging and savings advice are for Premium accounts.
