Everything you have: wallets and assets together

Most people know their bank balance and not what they actually own, because much of a household's money is gold in a drawer, a flat or a car. On My money, Masareefy adds your wallets' balances and your assets' value into one figure, Everything you have, and shows under it the share in cash and the share in assets.

When you hold a wallet in another currency, a dollar account for example, it is converted at today's exchange rate, and the line under the figure says it is approximate and gives the rate's date.

How your gold is valued at today's price

Choose Gold and enter the weight of your pieces in grams and their karat, or choose Gold pounds and enter how many; a gold pound is eight grams of 21K. The app values it from today's world gold price, converted into your budget's currency at the same day's exchange rate, then by the karat's purity.

This is the price of the metal, without workmanship or the dealer's margin, so it may differ from a jeweller's price. It measures what you own; it is not a price you can buy or sell at. Silver is valued the same way at 999 or 925.

Adding your gold and assets, step by step

  1. Tap Add an asset

On My money, open Assets and tap Add an asset, then pick its type: gold, silver, apartment, building, land, car, stocks or something else.

  2. Enter what you know

For gold and silver, the weight and karat; for anything else, what you think it is worth today. Update a flat's or a car's value whenever it changes; every update stays in its history.

  3. Add what you paid, if you know it

Turn on I know what I paid and enter the price, and the asset's page shows your gain or loss so far.

  4. If you sell, pick the wallet

Tap Sell and pick the wallet the money went into; its balance grows by the amount, and the sale counts as neither income nor savings. You can undo a sale from its confirmation.

Questions about gold and assets

Is the price shown a jeweller's price?

No. It is today's world gold price converted at the exchange rate, without workmanship or the dealer's margin, so it may differ from a jeweller's buying or selling price. It renews every day.

Can I record gold pounds?

Yes. Choose Gold pounds and enter how many; a gold pound is eight grams of 21K.

Does adding gold take its price out of a wallet?

No. Adding an asset changes no wallet's balance; the purchase price is optional and only shows your gain or loss.

Does selling gold count as income?

No. When you sell an asset you pick the wallet the money went into and its balance grows; the amount counts toward neither your income nor your savings.

Does the person I share my ledger with see my assets?

No. Assets and their values are shown only to the person who created the ledger.

Is Masareefy free?

Yes. Masareefy is free right now, with no payment card. Receipt scanning, voice logging and savings advice are for Premium accounts.
