At a glance
Each person, one line
What you lent to or borrowed from each person on one row, with what is left and when it is due.
A due date, and a reminder
Pick a due date and a reminder arrives on the day if notifications are on.
Wallets stay right
Lending lowers the wallet's balance, borrowing raises it, and a repayment reverses the move.
Your ledger, nobody else's
The app sends nothing to the other person and links no bank account.
Owed to you and owed by you, on one page
You lend your brother money for a car repair, you borrow from a friend until the end of the month, and two months later nobody remembers the exact amount. The Loans page keeps all of it in two parts: Owed to you, and You owe, with one row per person showing what is left and when it is due.
The Overview shows the same two totals, with See all under them. A loan repaid in full moves to Settled, with the date it was settled.

Recording a loan and its repayment, step by step
Open New loan
From the ≡ menu choose Loans, then New loan, or tap Lent or borrowed? in the add-purchase sheet.
Choose I lent or I borrowed
Type the person's name, or pick one you have used before, then the amount and the wallet the money left or reached.
Add a due date if you agreed one
Under More details pick the date and the due date and add a note; a reminder arrives on the day if notifications are on.
Record the repayment when it comes
Tap Repaid if all of it came back, or Part repaid and enter the amount repaid; what is left goes down and the wallet's balance moves by the same amount.

A loan is neither spending nor income
Money you lend comes back, and money you borrow goes back, so Masareefy counts it neither in the month's spending nor in your income, and it changes neither your budget nor what is left to spend this week. What changes is the balance of the wallet the money left or reached, until it is repaid.
Each loan stays in its wallet's currency: lend dollars from the dollar account and it is repaid in dollars, with totals shown per currency.
Loans by voice
Say “Lent Ahmed 500” or “Borrowed 1,000 from Sara” and a new loan opens with the name and amount. Say “Ahmed paid me back 200” and a part repayment of his loan opens with that amount, or with what is left if you said no amount. Nothing is saved until you confirm it. See everything you can say by voice.

Questions about money lent and borrowed
Does a loan count as spending?
No. A loan counts toward neither the month's spending, your income nor your budget; it only moves the balance of the wallet the money left or reached.
Can I record part of a repayment?
Yes. Tap Part repaid and enter the amount repaid; the rest stays on that person's row until it is all repaid.
Will the app remind me of the due date?
Yes. If you pick a due date and notifications are on, one reminder arrives on the day.
Does the other person know I recorded the loan?
No. Nothing you record is sent to anyone, and the other person does not need the app.
Can I record a loan in another currency?
Yes, from a wallet in that currency. The loan and its repayments stay in the wallet's currency, and what you are owed or owe is shown per currency.
Is Masareefy free?
Yes. Masareefy is free right now, with no payment card. Receipt scanning, voice logging and savings advice are for Premium accounts.
Can I record a loan by voice?
Yes. Say who you lent to or borrowed from and the amount, and a new loan opens filled in; say that someone paid you back, or that you paid them, and the repayment of their loan opens. Nothing is saved until you confirm it.
Write the loan down the day you give it, not the day you remember it
Record what you are owed and what you owe once, and let the app remind you on the due date.
