About Masareefy
A personal finance tracker written for Arabic speakers first, in Egypt and the Gulf, that never asks for your bank login.
Who builds it
Masareefy is an independent product, built and run by Usama Shehab, a software engineer. There is no sales team and no investor deck, and every feature is one a user asked for or one the builder needed himself.
The Arabic edition is the original, not a translation. Every page, every push notification and the free money course were written in Modern Standard Arabic first, then written again in English.
Why it never links to your bank
Masareefy does not connect to a bank account, a card or a wallet, and it never will. Most spending in the region is cash, instalments and transfers that no bank feed sees, so a linked feed would be both incomplete and a liability. Instead, you log a purchase in the way that takes the least effort: type it, photograph the receipt, say it out loud, tap the Android widget, or finish a shopping list. The app then tells you what you can still spend today.
Where your data lives
Your ledger is stored in a PostgreSQL database under a private account key; receipt photos are kept in private object storage and are only ever served back to you. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Receipt scanning and voice logging send the photo or recording to an AI provider to be read, and nothing is saved until you confirm it. The privacy policy names the providers and the retention periods.
Your ledger is yours: you can export everything to Excel. You can delete your account yourself at any time.
